On Tuesday June 14th 2005, power twin Class 117 DMU owned by the Blue Square Heritage Group and comprising of DMBS W.51367 and DMS W.51402 departed Northampton and Lamport Railway on Allely's Transport and headed North to their new home in the Highlands at the Strathspey Railway.

It was decided to replace the Network South East with the BR green livery it now carries - but before this could happen, many hours were taken into the replacement of a number of body panels, the internal frame structure, door pillars, floor sections, internal wall panels and luggage racks (some of which were missing in W.51402).

The work is not finished yet, however progress continues and it is sure to be done in the coming months.  Maintenance work is required on the 117 that was delayed by the previous uncertainty of the future of the unit.  Hopefully it will not be long before the unit is in full operation to give support to the Strathspey's Class 107 unit.  As both are Blue Square coded units, they are capable of being coupled together to form a 4-car set.
