There are a number of steam locomotives based at the Strathspey Railway.  Currently, Wemyss Private Railway locomotive No. 17 is providing the main service.

0-6-0ST Austerity No. 9 is currently coming to the end of a major overhaul, and is expected to re-enter traffic very soon.

Also undergoing overhaul is Ivatt class 2MT No. 46512, and Caledonian Railways 812 class 'Caley 828'.  You can find out more about Caley 828 on the dedicated website.

The Strathspey Railway is always looking for new volunteers who have a keen interest in engineering to come and help out with our major restoration projects.  If you are interested in helping out with any aspect of Steam Locomotive restoration work, please contact us and we can arrange to introduce you to the dedicated staff and volunteers who help keep Steam in the Highlands alive.
