Boat of Garten North Signal Box is located approximately 150 yards North of the station, and is located on the West side of the line.  This signal box works under the control of Boat of Garten South.  The 'box is fitted with a 20 lever McKenzie & Holland frame with Direct Tappet locking.

This signal box is entirely of wooden construction, and was previously extended from its original construction to the building seen today.  A token exchange stand was constructed at this 'box in 2006 to enable tokens to be exchanged more safely, as there is a very deep ballast shoulder at this point on the line.

There are currently only 6 operational levers in the frame fitted here - three signals, one point, one FPL and one King lever.  The bracket signals reading towards the station, and the king lever, are electrically locked from Boat of Garten South, and require the co-operation of the signalman there before they can be 'pulled off'.

The plans for this end of the station will eventually see the installation of a further set of points, and several new signals, to control access to a new siding and small yard to the North, which will allow access to and from the plant machinery maintenance facility.  It is also planned to install a Down Starter to the Up Platform, to enable full bi-directional working of the station.  This will allow a smoother start to two-train operating days, amongst other benefits.
